9/12 And The Numbers Fight

September 12, 2009 / 10:19 pm • By Dr. Melissa Clouthier

Michelle Malkin notes that the pictures of the thousands upon thousands (which eventually make a million) of people is from today.

Here’s a couple thoughts:

1. The libs must be completely freaked out. They are obsessing over the details.
2. If they obsess over the details they can ignore the big picture–which is that a lot of Americans are unhappy at the intrusion and scope of the government.
3. If the Left had organically amassed this many people it would have been called…oh, the Civil Rights movement.

And of course, the left is screaming racism. Where are the black people, they ask? Well, interestingly, that 15% of the U.S. population is overwhelming still please with the President’s work. Also, black voters voted almost exclusively for Barack Obama.

If 3% of blacks voted against Barack Obama and say .5% of them are outraged at the President’s policies, what would that be in real numbers? Not too big. And actually, I can think of a bunch of unhappy black anti-Obama folks right off the top of my head. Are they racist?

Are the white Independents and Democrats who voted for President Obama but are now disaffected, racists? There were those sorts of people at the DC march. Are they racist?

The racist card is utter balderdash. Barack Obama ran as a moderate and is governing like a hard core liberal bent on creating a soft socialist American state. That’s his whole “remake America” and “change” rhetoric. That’s how he wanted to change America.

Most Americans who voted for him, thought he meant it when he was talking about “bringing responsibility back”. They thought wrong. They feel duped. Now, they’re angry.

When black people were angry at President Bush, were they racist? When white liberals were angry at President Bush were they racist? When President Bush lost the middle and a chunks of the right, were those people racist? I mean, they hated the policies of a white guy.

The racist argument needs to stop. And the numbers fight is hilarious. There were a lot of people in DC and around the country making it known that America is going the wrong direction. How much is a lot? Well, enough to scare the liberals senseless. But that doesn’t take much.

THANK YOU MELISSA. While watching the news coverage of D.C. today, I thought, yep, somebody (on the left) is undoubtedly going to make the observation that there sure weren’t a lot of people of color in the crowd. Apparently nothing any white person says is of any validity whatsoever these days unless there is at least one minority who also says the same thing.

I am so freaking tired of the constant cry of racism as a flimsy, desperate excuse. Most of us out there (at least myself and most of the people I know) DON’T CARE about a person’s ethnicity. Not one whit. We subscribe to what Dr. King dreamed of and judge folks by the content of their character — that most definitely includes the President. Yet still it seems that all Caucasian people are assumed racist until proven otherwise (and how can one ever REALLY prove otherwise, hmm?). How we ever expect to move beyond racial issues in this country when the charge is being constantly thrown up where it doesn’t exist (mostly by those who purport to be most eager to be rid of it, ironically) is beyond me.

These smears show that the white liberals are afraid of how large these protests have become in such short of a time. They’re also afraid of how much more massive they can become over the next few years.

And, even worse, they think that these protests are only happening because of Fox News, Glenn Beck, etcetera. They believe that the outrage is manufactured and we can’t think for ourselves. And that we’re also driven by hate.

That is their side (see Bush years), not ours.

Dear Dr. MC: Below is a rant I dashed off to a moonbat site named “The Reality-Based Community:”

Here’s Tom Maguire’s general response to libtards like Dear Leader Brobambi hisself:

Dems [are] either naive or disingenuous; [their] ‘argument’ seems to be that since the law says that illegals can’t be covered, they won’t be. Let’s take that logic a step further – since the law says illegals aliens shouldn’t be here, they aren’t! Gosh, it must be great being reality-based!

Brobambi’s Girl Friday named Valerie Jarrett has inserted a dude named Cass Sunstein waiting in the wings to do his “Administrative Czar” follow-up on legislation in order to “tweak” the Congressional legislation with an administrative “directive” obviating any legislation that disallows free health care for illegal aliens. Or alternatively, the Ninth Circus Court of Appeals will rule, with Chief Judge Alex Kozinski, the clown who has a porn page on his official webpage on his 9th C—–. Ct. website, presiding, that illegals are to be cared for whether or not they pay taxes…..

How Reality-Based can you get? At least Tom Maguire’s got your number, and hopefully, what happened to Dan Rather will happen to your equally dishonest “Community.”

And here is a very “reality-based” comment:

“Having government manage your health care is like having Michael Vick watch your dog.” — Sign from the 9/12 Tea Party

[You can tell which signs are not union-made handout placards distributed by ACORN because they are witty....and TRUE!]

Melissa, even going by your numbers, at least 5% of the people marching should have been black.
Since that wasn’t the case, maybe it’s because no black people were available or maybe none of them live in DC or something.

    Fuster,

It was .5%, so that would be 5 people per thousand. Since the MSM is quoting 10,000 people there, that would only be 50 black people. There were definitely 50 black people in the photos. Now if someone wanted to admit there were more than 10,000 people there…

My dear Chalmers, I believe that Melissa says that it was .5% of the 3% of the non-supporters of Obama amongst the country’s Black people that she would have expected to turn out.
Of course, she’s completely full of gas in assuming that 97% of Blacks voted for Obama, and an accurate estimate of the vote would result in a tripling of that 3%, and thus a tripling in the number of Blacks attending the rally.
But what of that? What’s the difference if she’s obviously incorrect or obviously triply incorrect?
Most of the Black representation at the rally consisted of pictures of Obama in whiteface on those lovely, lovely signs.

Wow Fuster – even you’re reaching with this. Is that all you can come up with? So if x% of black people aren’t at some particular event then it’s not “legitimate”? Are you really that trite? Are you really lacking in any LEGITIMATE argument that you have to pull that?

And 95% of Blacks WHO VOTED – voted for TEO. You can’t count people who didn’t vote – why? – BECAUSE they didn’t vote. There’s also a VERY good chance, that 99.9% of the people who attended the big event, and the town halls, are people who have ACTUALLY voted regularly in the past elections.

    Liberal Math

    200,000 African-American Men: Why, that’s a Million Man March!

2 Million TEA Party Protesters: Why, there’s maybe tens of thousands there.

This is why it’s so hard for liberals to win a debate against a conservative: they can’t even grasp the basic facts of anything.

So you say that the MMM was multiplied by 5 times, Naq, and you multiply this demonstration by 10 times or more.

I guess it must be hard to win a debate with you because you’re either indifferent to facts or a bigger liar than the people you boast of beating.

Naq, thanks for asking. I’m feeling rather well lately and, no, my unicorn isn’t late. (She’s regular and we’re very careful.)

If Malkin is your source for crowd numbers, you’re foolish. She’s the twit who went and published somebody’s lie about 1.5 million after adding on some more of her own imaginary throng.
Did she say that the number came from the police?
Shouldn’t you, if not she, know better than to think that the police issued an estimate?
    They didn’t, still haven’t, and won’t.
Try to find it. it’ll be a good lesson for you and might help keep you from swallowing third-hand tall tales.

I might appear to be grumpy on this site because I’ve been steamed since Clouthier published a stupid and revolting claim that most abortions in America are performed upon women coerced into undergoing the procedure.

You’re right – it is revolting about coerced abortions.

Go back and read that absurd “study” that Clouthier published. Follow the links. It’s a piece of drivel and no one should ever have published anything crediting it.
Try telling me that how in the name of reason Melissa gets to trumpet results about American women from a study that’s mostly of RUSSIANS.
