And People Wonder Why Sarah Palin Stepped Down
August 1, 2009 / 9:51 pm • By Dr. Melissa ClouthierI won’t link to the abomination about Sarah and Todd Palin. Let’s see, it’s a New Media trifecta: unsourced, no confirmation, no eye-witnesses. Lots of innuendo, next some backtracking and finally, the denial from the person involved, Sarah Palin.
Why do they do it? Fear and loathing.
There is not one politician on this planet who has been harassed, harried, and harangued like Sarah Palin. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie must be breathing a sigh of relief. All the scum and scoundrels in the media salivate over the lives of strangers. What the hell is wrong with people? The Palins are human beings. They live, breath and have feelings.
The excrable Firedoglake features Lisa Derrick’s salacious joy at the thought, with the post titled, “Sarah Palin is Quitting AGAIN: Now, It’s Her Marriage?!?!”:
“And the family has had a lot of stress and media exposure. Kind of like John and Kate Gosselin, but with fewer kids.”
And making a comparison to Jon and Kate…as if Sarah Palin’s goal is to exploit her children.
This whole episode says more about the amorality of the Left than it says anything about the Palin family. When a political threat exists, the Left, with one accord, grabs the metaphorical pitchforks and readies the stake. They’ve had the fire burning for Sarah Palin for months. Now, all they need is the Scarlet letter and they’ll feel justified in doing what they’ve wanted to do all along-burn her to a cinder. Well, they’ve been doing that anyway. What they need is justification for their actions.
A friend told me that Sarah Palin Hate reveals so much about the hater. Yes it does.
Ace struggled with whether to write about it, since its such unsourced garbage and blogging would give oxygen to the growing flames. But these flames continue if not fought with fire.
Really, I figure the blogs and press will get more vicious, the more Sarah Palin goes around them. I love that she issued a denial through Facebook. I love that they’re irritated that she hasn’t even Tweeted for a week. They need headlines! Can’t they see that by stepping down and using alternative new media outlets, the press is deprived of the circulation numbers a woman like her generates?
The solution, then, is to make stuff up. And on the day she resigned, she chided the press for making stuff up. The press got offended. So, they make more stuff up and prove her point. If it weren’t so pathetic, it would be comical.

What has been done to Sarah Palin is nothing compared to what was done to Bill Clinton.

My bet: the reason she STILL has not released her medical history is, it includes at least one episode of severe mental illness, perhaps a hospitalization for a suicide attempt or something like that.
That’s why her doctor wrote that letter which said “She’s fine, no need to see the history”.
Anyone care to bet against me? The bet to be paid if and when we learn the truth. How about, say, three thousand buckaroos?

How much did Clinton bring on himself based on his personal behavior?
Also, you are comparing events that happened over 8 years to 6 months with Palin?
Don’t worry about that bruise on your mouth-just put a little ice on it. I think Ted Kennedy’s around here somewhere.

What’s your guess on Obama?
That’s why her doctor wrote that letter which said “She’s fine, no need to see the history”.
Exactly like Obama?

Is that the same as Yuans?
Maybe when she’s elected president she will be accused of sexually harrassing another “dude” and a doctor-in the course of a lawsuit-can examine her “girl parts”.
You know, like Clinton.

OK, Counterstrike, I’ll take that bet. My only additional caveat is that the payoff MUST come face to face, at a time and place of my choosing.
Got guts?

GREAT post, Melissa- thx
No limits to the levels the DNC will plunge to… spreading rubbish like this through their slimy blogger alliance.
Palin’s resignation obviously puts yet more pressure on Obama to finally get some results, as the soaring rhetoric isn’t hypnotizing the plebes like it used to… and now there’s another viable alternative waiting in the wings.
Alaska was a pretty corrupt system until she stepped in. Her reforms took on entrenched politicians (inc. Republicans), a mafioso-style union boss, and Big Oil.
Wouldn’t it have been nice if Obama had been principled and brave enough to confront the corrupt Chicago Democratic Machine? Or shady political operators like Tony Rezko? Racist preachers? Instead of doing business with every last one of them?
IMO Palin could trounce him in 2012, when Americans would vote for the Gipper-in-Heels in droves- they’ll surely being looking for such an antidote to the Bolshevik con-artist who’s currently taking a wrecking-ball to this society.
No wonder the far-left moonbats -along with Team Obama’s David Plouffe and his internet squads- are out to destroy her.
Go get em ‘Cuda-

Palin divorce rumors just business as usual from the enemies of a real conservative GOP
The Democrat left and GOP elites fear Palin’s popularity with conservative voters as well as her independence from their control and direction. They have done all they can do to destroy her marriage, family, children and her vision for America and will continue to do so.
To the GOP neocon establishment who have trashed and attacked Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Peter Schiff and other potential Republican candidates far more than the liberal Democrats, your attacks just increase the popularity of Sarah and the Palin For President in 2012 website effort at http://www.palin4pres2012.com where we answer “Why They Hate Sarah”.

I see you have what may well be the dumbest troll ever on any site ever. One Dummy Defender Of Barry and Bill. Yeah, ole bill getting his jollies with an intern certainly cemented a lot of respect. Oh, and the leftists in his own party loved him, too. yeah, right. Oh, I will take your bet. If anything bad had ever happened to Palin we would know it. Obamabots would be coming out of the woodwork to tell what they know…so, the fascists are reduced to making things up. its quite simple. Side note, I did not give the troll traffic, as I assume his moronic post was just to generate traffic at his/its site.

As our country swings far away from what our Founding Fathers so hoped, one cannot help but cry when we see how far below the morality line we as a society have sunk. Just read the comments from any sight and the majority are demeaning snipes based on misinformation and innuendoes; yet, most posters have a gleeful tone when spreading the hate. Why is that? How is calling another family derogatory names without any merit honorable? If the comments from the posters and our media define how we as a society has progressed, than I am afraid we have already reached the point of no return.
How sad that our country’s most important blogs are Daily Kos and Huffington where hateful, uninformed, and brainwashed citizens are in full display.

Palin is a great person, has common sense, knows that you can’t dig your way out of a hole. She’s honest, has faith, has common sense, and loves her state and her country. In other words, she’s everything that the far life is not, and they hate her for it. They hate her because they know that she resonates with millions upon millions of people across the country. What other republican could draw 20,000+ in Auburn, deep inside 0bama territory 8 months after the election? Her enemies are all aware of the tens of thousands of people who were willing to stand for hours on end in the rain, the cold, or the heat, just to hear and see her.
Look at the way Palin’s op/ed on cap and trade was received with near hysteria on the part of the left. They even called out MoveOn.org to run ads against her (a pathetic ad that looks like a talentless hack put it together in 5 minutes). It isn’t because what Palin said was much different than what a lot of other people have said, but none of the others command attention like Palin does. What she writes or what she says is paid attention to.
We can expect the left to continue to heap lie upon rumor upon lie in their effort to marginalize her by 2012. It isn’t going to work. We’ll need someone with common sense to clean up the mess that 0bama and his cronies are making of the country.

Counterputz: Just curious. How many times have you written comments demanding to see Obama’s actual, real, birth certificate, and not a second-tier “partial” certificate?
I **personally** don’t care (esp. since I don’t doubt that he was, in fact, born in the USA), but Der Publicken has far more right to that than to see Sarah Palin’s full medical file.

Well, that depends on what you mean by the word, “true”, doesn’t it?

Well, to be honest — Auburn IS the home of the Von Mises school of economics. along with the Chicago school (Friedmanites, monetarists) it’s one of the two competing major economic schools of thought (a third being the now-discredited but never-dying Keynesians). It’s is home to one hell of a lot of serious libertarians. As she appears to be a serious fiscal conservative, it’s no surprise they would find her appealing.

Wow. We keep seeing the same thing again and again. Here is the process:
a) Some nut on some random blog says something untrue about Sarah Palin.
b) Sarah Palin and her supporters say it was the MSM rather than a nut (a ridiculous conflation).
c) Sarah Palin plays hapless victim, a role she relishes.
d) More conservatives beleive the nonsense.
e) repeat incessantly
That is what just happened. Follow it through, and especially read the politico article.

I don’t wonder why Palin stepped down and I don’t think that she’ll divorce her husband.
It’ll look like an accident, like she thought he has a moose or something or she just had a Dick Cheney moment.
