The Sotomayor & Franken Party
July 13, 2009 / 8:26 am • By Dr. Melissa ClouthierMight as well relax and take it people, the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor is as good as done in the same way everyone knew that Franken would win the Minnesota Senate race even 600 votes behind. Like gravity and other forces of nature, Democrats march on ideologically while Republicans weakly offer limper versions of the real, statist deal. And Ms. Sotoamayor is the real deal.
Yes, Ms. Sotomayor will make policy. She’s said as much:
Yes, Ms. Sotomayor defines her worldview through her ethnicity. She’s said as much.
Yes, Ms. Sotomayor is a radical liberal. She’s made no effort to hide it.
No, she doesn’t seem that bright. She’s not a conservative like Harriet Meier.
No, Americans don’t think she’s qualified. Doesn’t matter. My only regret through the hearings? Missing Joe Biden and Arlen Specter pontificate. Ah, the good old days.
She will be confirmed anyway. The whole confirmation process will be a silly circus. Best not to waste your energy or emotion.
It’s politically expedient. The Republicans want to look good. Remember, that’s the one goal these days. They haven’t got into the spirit of being the opposition party quite yet. The Republicans still operate under the delusion that if the press likes them, they’ll receive better treatment, get re-elected, yada, yada.
Anyway, it’s going to happen.
Meanwhile, there’s an issue that does matter and needs to be fought this week and it’s Health Care. Cap-n-Trade, the biggest tax hike in history is like unto it. These abominable plans, along with Card Check should strike fear in every freedom-loving American’s heart. The passage of these bills would decimate industries and actually harm Americans.
Something can be done about these terrible policies. Americans need to do what they can to kill these bills. More on that later. In the meantime, Sotomayor will be the newest addition to the Supreme Court: One Wise Latina slot filled.
P.S. I wonder how many identity-politics choices need to be made so the white American majority is no longer cast as racist rednecks? When whites are in the minority will they still be the racist majority?

May as well assume the position folks. It’s coming and it’s going to hurt a lot for a long time. The inmates have finally risen up and taken over the asylum because those who should have and could have prevented it did nothing.
At some point in my imminent retirement, the Dems will take over the Supreme Court, and the result will be a very long and dark period in this country’s history. I don’t think it will end in my lifetime, and even our children and grandchildren are doomed to suffer under an oligarchic socialist autocracy for their foreseeable future.
I wish I could see a brighter future, but I can’t, can’t because the future I see doesn’t include a conservative resurgence. That would take the sudden appearance of solid intelligent and dedicated conservative leaders, and I don’t see them either.
I see only these phony RINOs who’ve brought us to where we are now. Thanks to them, I believe we are living in the last days of the Republican Party as it is now constituted, and it won’t die a day too soon for me.
When that day arrives, the stage will be clear for real conservatives to organize a completely new party with new leaders who have true and verifiable conservative bona fides, and a flaming commitment to restoring the credibility of conservative beliefs.
Don’t count on the RINOs to help. They’ll bail and join the other side at the first sign of trouble. They’ve already proven that’s what they’ll do.
The Prime Directive for the New Conservative Party:
Admission is open to all true conservatives, which means that no member of the McCain/Palin Campaign Staff will be allowed.
Nor will any House and Senate members who voted for ANY bill supported by the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Triumvirate.

filiscotia,
Regarding the eventual leftist control of the Supreme Court, I’ll bump it up another notch. I don’t think the Republicans are going to do nearly as well as they think they will in the 2010 mid-term elections. Fox Morning had several people on Friday who voted for Obama (one older white guy, a black woman and a young white guy). It was regarding the economy
and whether they’d vote for this clown again.
The older white guy is going to Tea Parties (WTF???) but would vote for Obama again (again, WTF???). The black woman said that the government should be pumping more money into small businesses (sure, why not? We’re subsidizing everyone else…) and would vote for him again (given the blacks voted 90% for this guy in November, all I can say is that I’m super-total shocked by this). Finally, the young white guy (who was probably the biggest idiot of the bunch) said that Obama needs to rein in the Democratic Party and hold it more accountable (my jaw just dropped when he said that). And naturally, he’d vote for Obama again as well (again, deer-in-the-headlights stunning because the young voters went anywhere from 60-70% for the Messiah).
With morons like this (and I can’t believe that they’re an exception to the rule), I find it difficult to believe that the Republicans will make much headway in the near future (particularly if their message is going to be “we’re just like the Democrats, but less!”).
Needless to say, if the Republicans don’t get any traction in 2010, you might as well pack it in, because four years of this nonsense will utterly destroy this country.
