The Left, They Be Scared

June 11, 2009 / 6:08 pm • By Dr. Melissa Clouthier

It might be a little early to state unequivocally, but I’m tentatively going to say that yesterday, the worm turned.

The last couple of weeks has been very revealing. The political and media class are in a lather and the people at home are watching. What are they seeing?

Crazy people killing. While those of us blogging and the media types are ferreting who is doing the killing and why, the people who have lives are just noting that a lot of crazies are killing. They’re also noticing that normal groups of people are being tagged and blamed for what are clear acts of hate-filled insanity. Still, the killings didn’t happen before. They’re happening now. It is not good.

People don’t have jobs. It’s getting worse. President Obama promised people the moon. Remember the lady who said President Obama would get her groceries? Now, President Obama is less trustworthy. It’s not that he lacks power–he controls the banks and the auto industry and now the tobacco industry is in his cross hairs. He drops terrorist on allies’ islands without permission. He’s omnipotent.

Jeremiah Wright rears his hating head. This is the man who influenced Barack Obama for twenty years. This is the man who was his inspiration and mentor. And this is the man spewing nonsense right during a delicate time in Middle East relations. As President Obama talks about conversations with Iran without preconditions, Reverend Wright’s words ring in everyone’s ears.

Playboy and David Letterman abuse conservative women. And the feminists? Nary a squeak, well a couple, but not big ones. And defending the indefensible has been alarming. Imagine if Malia…never mind.

Biden is a turd. As if anyone needs any reminders, but the Prez’ No.2 is making Dan Quayle look like a super magnificently great Veep choice. People are tiring of the Palin slams. They might work better if Biden wasn’t so goofy, alas. Right about now, Governor Palin is looking, well, executive-ish.

Spending like a rock star, baby. While everyone is cutting back, the Prez, family and government spend, spend, spend!

More czars than Russia–none of whom get Congressional oversight, none of whom, confirmed.

And the media fawns over President Obama and the Democrats in Congress, rarely asking the tough questions and emphasizing minutiae to distract from big issues.

The biggest sign the Left is in full panic mode? Well, they get personal and nasty and vitriolic. If the email and comments mean anything, I’d say the tide is turning.

I hope you are right. At this rate we will drown efore 2010 election. If there will be an election. Do you think that people who openly talk about a holocaust of old people who usually vote in big numbers will risk an election?

This anti-Christian dictatorship will be much more subtle than anything we have known until now. It merely appears to be friendly to religion, but on the condition that its own models of behavior and thinking not be called into question. The Democratic (socialist) Party of America is an anti-Christian dictatorship, appearing to be friendly to religion yet it dictates to the people that they have no right and indeed no authority to call into question its own models of behavior. 30 percent of Americans believe congressmen are corrupt and congress’s approval rating hit a historic low of 9% last year – the Democratic (socialist) Party of America has been leading America for two and one half years now. Consider those truths, of the opinions and impressions Americans hold, regarding congress. Tell me, just what has congress done well? What does congress do, that is efficient or well managed or even virtuous? Hence, what are Americans up to today? What is it they actually seek to accomplish, by aiding these dubious congressmen who are now their accomplices? What act is it they are conspiring to do? Something must be up, because Americans know full well what those in congress today are.
We have a bunch of shady americans seeking to destroy America the republic and rob and steal and they have congress doing what would be illegal for themselves to do. Once the government siezes the property of persons we will all be the same…the same as liberal left public schooled Americans ….all no different than a horse. Raised to be used and discarded at will. The socialist culture of things vs the culture of love and life.

You also look a bit goofy when you use Dan Quayle to make a point without being able to spell his name correctly.

    Melissa,

Are most people really tuning in on most of the nonsense? I’m not so sure. I would agree with the economy and jobs, but all the rest is fodder for political pundits. Most regular people don’t know nor do they care about all the other stuff (at least that’s my impression). I mean, you have a media which is trumpeting nothing but “Obama’s awesome!” (think O’Doyle Rules! mantra).

Most people will tune into the news, but not many actually follow up on news items to get to the nitty-gritty.

I do think a few people are waking up, but not enough to change things around for the time being.

What do you mean by “anti-christian” and who are you calling “shady americans”?

Biden is a turd? Why didn’t you call him a fat, sow-faced turd?

Liberals have “progressed” from acting superior and infallible to being out of control and nasty. This is always the road they travel once in power.

An individual who was well-balanced, albeit somewhat childish and immature, would act exactly the way our progressives are acting after his favorite candidate LOST the election.

Wounded, churlish, bitter, nasty, petulant, jealous, constantly pointing at insignificant little bits of residual evidence that he didn’t get a fair shake on this or that matter. And doing lots, and lots, and lots of whining.

Well, Morgan, it sounds as though you believe Melissa to be a progressive.

Melissa: Slowly, but surely, things are “turning around.” Like one of the commenters, however, I agree that it may not happen fast enough (and November, 2012 can’t get here soon enough!).

Seems to be the case, doesn’t it? Every time the Libs get to be “in charge,” they just can’t help themselves, turning into little Nazi Nannies, telling everyone what to do, when to do it, what not to do, and how not to do it (meanwhile, they go right ahead and do pretty much any damn thing they want to, any time they want to — the old “Do as I say, not as I do” standard of the Lib elites).

The more we “regular” folk see how power corrupts these ninnies, the more disgusted we become, until finally there is a blood-letting (politically), the contempt in which these power-hungry mental midgets are held soars, and at least a few Conservatives get a chance to regain control (til they lose it again after becoming essentially the same as the authoritarian statists they replaced, albeit as “lite” versions, as they begin to “go along to get along” in the NY/DC social circuit, and to hell with the people who elected them).

It’s not the social circuit, it’s the access to the money that gets them.
