February 13, 2009 / 9:08 am • By Dr. Melissa ClouthierI can’t help but thinking that had Republicans stuck with core principles during their time of unchecked power, America wouldn’t be where she is today.
The Republicans ruined their brand by these actions:
1. If you’re going to fight–beat the hell out of the opposition and get it over with. [Iraq, Afghanistan]
2. If you’re going to preach fiscal conservatism don’t spend like Imelda Marcos at a shoe store.
3. If you’re going to stand for the family don’t pass laws that hurt the family–making declaring bankruptcy harder, Kelo, etc.
4. If you’re making hard choices for the benefit of everyone, get in front of the camera and explain it.
5. If you’re going to be in the lead, stop reacting to Democrat plans and come up with good ideas and follow through on your own.
6. If you’re going to say national security is key, don’t let the southern border be a porous sponge leaking criminals and who knows who.
Congressmen killed the Republican brand by killing Social Security reform, not pushing through more conservative judges, etc. while they had the chance. They appeared weak and unworthy of leadership.
The President helped kill the Republican brand by rubber stamping bloated, pork-laden bills–’course he need money for the war efforts.
Still, if the Republicans in Congress are frustrated, they need only to look at themselves and sellouts like Collins, Snowe and Specter. They are just doing what they’ve always done and in the last eight years they were joined by more than a few other sellouts who put their personal political career over the benefit of the party as a whole and more importantly, the country. In short, they governed like mealy-mouthed versions of Democrats.
Democrats spend like thieves and are unapologetic doing so. Democrats cave to special interests because their party is one big conglomeration of special interests. Democrats behave immorally and with impunity because they believe they’re better than you and above the law. Democrats have no shame because you have to have a principle to violate that makes you feel shamed.
I don’t fault Democrats. That anyone believed them during the election season speaks to the voters desire for change so bad they’ll believe anything. Well, Republicans should be teh real deal, but they haven’t been.
Rebuild. Rebrand. Renew commitment to core principles and people will come. But voters are wary and distrustful. And the recent capitulation by the three Republican pariahs does not give voters confidence that the Republicans are any smarter now.

Agree with most of your points except one. First, what options do the rest of the Republicans have to deal with Specter, Collins, and Snowe? The Republicans as a whole stood strong and firm against this disaster of a bill, and I think that will go a long way to rehabilitating their image.
Now, it’s up to us to make sure that 2010 is Specter’s last year in the Senate, to send a message that RINOs are no longer welcome in the party.

Don’t you know that the number one core principle now is Maverickism? The party’s own presidential nominee blazed the path to demontrate how acceptable and legitimate it is to say “screw party solidarity, I’m doing whatever the hell I want to do.”

Finally, you get something almost right for a change. The repubs of the last 8 years were anything but conservative, and now your party is paying the political price (we just pay the bill…). The American public was so disgusted by the assclown prince and his spendaholic posse that they elected a man with little experience and a disposition towards egalitarianism. I think the public collectively said, “Hey, what the f**k, if we’re going to spend tax dollars like drunken sailors in a whorehouse, why not get some social benefit out of it?” Is it really any suprise that a man who ran four businesses into the ground, had (has?) an alchohol addition, a coke addiction and a bad temper ran the entire nation into the crapper? You’re suprised by this? I knew in 2000 that this guy would screw us all. His final parting shot was to have his oil buddies raise gas prices to accelerate an oncoming recession, pocket the profits, nosedive the economy and force congress to release hundreds of millions of no-strings attached dollars to his other buddies, the bankers, before he was 86′ed out of the building. This asshole undoubtedly laughed his drunk ass all the way back to BF Texas. Judging by your other rants, all of this was perfectly acceptable as long as it was your guy doing the taxpayer stealing. Now that Obama is being forced to use taxpayer money you cry foul. Where was your outrage when Shrub was screwing the taxpayers? Me thinks thou art a HUGE hypocrite.

the only reason this war wasn’t over a long time ago is because USA refused to tie it’s exit to political progress. Had we done so we would be in re-building phase mode and no recession would have existed.
Now these people are here and most people STILL DON’T KNOW that it was the DEMS AND…

prior to 911 when DEMOCRATS WERE IN OFFICE the Usa sent our law enforcement to Yeman to arrest Osama bin laden. The Yeman ambassador promptly got into a ‘turf battle” with USA law enforcement to claim the USA LAW ENFORCEMENT was “infringing” on YEMAN ambassadors “turf”.
So what happened OUR USA LAW ENFORCEMENTS WERE TOLD by DEMOCRATS–to go home empty handed. The DEMOCRAT Administration didn’t know at the time their irresponsible actions had paved the way for terriorist to make plans and lay groundwork for 911.
The Wall Street journal at that time printed a small article on it and to the recent it has been discussed but apparantly NOT ENOUGH.

We need to make sure our Nation makes sure WASH DC slams on the brakes to spending. The WE THE PEOPLE need to make sure we LEGALLY and LEGISLATIVELY let everyone in WASH DC know that WE THE PEOPLE want everyone of our freedoms iron-clad protected and that WE THE PEOPLE will have “long” long memories on elections ” if WASH DC doesn’t want to keep our freedoms flag allegience and constition protected.
WANT TO KNOW what happened to all those SO CALLED ACORN AND DEMOCRATS properties they claimed they wanted? WELL THEY ARE ALL BOARDED UP. MEANTIME our economy is still reeling from the effects of the DEMOCRATS CONSTANT IRRESPONSIBLE ACTIVITIES.
NOW THE BAILOUT which gives all businesses a blank check to engage in every conceiveable irresponsible business manner knowing the public will be forced to pick up the tab when the company runs out of money.
This will bankrupt our Nation, people and we will wind up like CUBA. Only we will be owned by foreigners whom subscribe to sharia law.

Obama in 2006 campaigned with his cousin to have placed in kenya for the purpose of “safe-havening terrorists. Which if they would have won it would have been impossible to try terriorists for any crimes anywhere because they would have had to be shipped back into kenya where they would be safe-havened. As a result of the loss of that election, there was a pre-planned blood bath where all the christians were killed.
Now as a result of our refusing to tie our exit to political progress Pakistan is now a SHARIA LAW state Nation.
A few days ago found out that the SHARIA LAW wants to have the banking industry operate under SHARIA LAW RELIGION rules. Sharia law requires that “anyone” can be punished by death for attempting to claim that the islam/muslim/sharia law murders and criminal activities are bad.
What it would mean if accepted it would maditorily require the release of all those criminals from prison and put them back out on the street to commit more crimes because sharia law exempts them from being tried for their crimes to non-muslims.
As of yesterday the UN voted to pass a agreement to SHARIA LAW which would mean that “anyone” would be punished by death for claiming the murders and criminal activities of the islam/muslim/sharia law are bad. What that means is they consider it criminal and punishible by death to anyone whom is Christian or any other religion, other than Muslim.
So, now we must face the fact that they “really” don’t like us at all.
Now as a result of not tying our exit to political progress it means we will have to work harder than ever before to keep our freedoms protected.
Go see for yourselves how you can help the American Center for Law and Justice protect our freedoms because they need signature support. Guess what if they don’t get it??? there won’t be anyone to protect WE THE PEOPLE anymore.
Pres. Bush did a lot for a Nation whom most still aren’t even aware of these events transpiring.
Whom was the orator, or president or author whom said —Tolerance becomes wrong and EVIL when given and applied to criminals.
Whom as it whom said—all that’s needed for tyranny to reign is for good men to do nothing?

HR 219 WILL SAVE SOC SEC–and why you haven’t heard about it
America is about to get a heavy dose of “reality” when the “change” comes about that Bush’s 2 tax laws lapse and Captiol wage taxes INCREASE and DEATH tax INCREASES.
HR 219 THIS WILL SAVE SOCIAL SECURITY—but guess why PUBLIC hasn’t heard about it?? Because DEMS don’t want anyone to know that this bill will for DECADES to come SECURE SOCIAL SECURITY for the PUBLIC how?
1. Creates enough SURPLUS to pay all SOC SEC benefits for decades to come
2.Keeps politicians from cutting PRESENTSOC SEC benefits
3. keeps politicians from raising taxes.The lobby groups put out the info yesterday and that DEMS don’t want anyone to know because then politicians would have to stop using the SOC SEC for pork projects. go see for yourselves at the Christian Seniors Assoc -site

SOC SEC AND MEDICARE CAN BE SAVED–HERE’S WHY YOU HAVEN’T HEARD ABOUT IT
HERE is LOCKBOX LAW and the fix our SENIOR COLA law which will ensure that our MEDICARE gets saved without loss of services and without raising of premiums. But the PUBLIC must be active to the lobby for it to pass. This keeps POLITICIANS from “raiding” the TRUST. This puts Congress on notice that PUBLIC WILL NOT tolerate the abuse of SOC SEC. Here’s the point in 2010 or 2012 the new baby boomers are about to start retiring, people, and if this HR 219 IS NOT IN PLACE NOW to provide the surplus we need—-it will be bankrupt in 2010 or 2012. They want to do an irresponsible bailout which will bankrupt us as well, but they want to BAILOUT BUSINESSES but when it comes to doing something “good’ for WE THE PEOPLE they don’t want to do anything.

If you want to put a stop to this worst spending you can write your congressman, Christopher Kit Bond and Claire McCaskill at the US Senate, Washington D.C. 20510 or your US Congressman Respresenting the 8th District, Jo Ann Emerson, Washington D.C., 20510.
Tell them your want to see the Social Security Preservation Act HR 219 which would require 100% of the trust fund money saved be passed. It is clear politicians will not pass the Social Security preservation Act HR 219 unless a tidal wave of support for the American public forces them too.
It is time to let Congress know how you feel about this. Let them hear from you.
