@LEARNED FOREVER February 7 2009 / 11:20 am "You want this crowd to succeed? Why?"

Your question implies a common misconception about the meaning of "success" in this context. It is not the success of a specific political ideology nor the success of individual politicians that is hoped for. It is the success of the United States of America that we all wish for, no matter who is in charge. The alternative is akin to cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Blunders & Ineptitude will be inevitable. I look forward to it. Read Rich Galen column, 6th February.

The voters have elected a guy with no experience, from Democrat Machine town of Chicago, went to church of racist, bigot, anti-American preacher for 20yrs, spoke continually about change, but no history of it. His thumbnail background.

Has re-animated characters from the administration of the co-presidency: Bill & Monica.

The Sec of State has never acomplished anything, other than to be married to Bill. She is the 3rd generation of the Jimmy Carter School of Diplomacy: Cyrus Vance, Warren Christopher, now Her.

I could go on, but you get the point. You want this crowd to succeed? Why?

Melissa,

I for one welcome every stupid setback that this leftist jackass (did I also mention pompous) initiates. The Left thinks it can do an awesome job? Hey, by all means, damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. They now have their shot, thanks to the "inbred cretins" in the Republican Party (I have to admit I like this quote, no less for it being true). As for hurting this country, 53% voted for this charismatic doofus. Maybe we do need a wakeup call, as ridiculous as it sounds. Whatever happens, I'll just say "um...I voted for McCain..."

I'm not for unity, I'm not for bipartisanship, so I'm not interested in helping. Does that mean I'll act like the Democrats did when Bush was in office? Nope, since that would involve me detracting about 30+ years off my age. However, I'll be damned if I'm going to actively help these twits by writing good things about them.

The American people spoke quite clearly in November and will have to face consequences for their actions (as will the Republicans who let this happen). They have sown the wind and now they'll reap the whirlwind.

Every failure of the 'Bamster is potential success for the lame-assed GOP...who are you for, exactly? The 'Bamster doesn't represent Constitutional institutions, or even capitalism, generally. He is a Marxist, and his monumental failure is our last best *hope*.

You know, Melissa, I could not agree more with you. Seeing Obama struggle and possibly fail in this Presidency is of no help to anyone except satisfy out of proportionate, blown up egos. So many people have great hopes that some real changes are made. I shutter to think what people will do should Obama fall flat on his face.

As we get ready to fly to Germany, I know this topic will come up. So many countries around the world have renewed hope in America. America can rise to a much better position in the world again if we stop fighting each other so much. It still is "We the People..." Just my opinion.

"Won’t it be interesting (and horrible) ..."

In other words, "interesting" in the Chinese sense.
