Palin Unqualified

MSNBC hack: 65% of Americans believe Palin to be unqualified

Hmmmm…..could that be because the media, over and over, portrayed her as unqualified? This becomes a chicken-egg thing. The media quotes an image of a person they created as evidence the person is the image.

Palin’s home state had an over 80% approval rating of their own Governor. Then after the national media is done savaging her, the opinion is around 65%. That’s still good. But what happened? Did Palin suddenly get less qualified? Did she miraculously transform from who she was in a short month?

I’d argue that the press created an image of the woman wholly out-of-line with her character because she was the single biggest threat to Obama’s candidacy and nothing was going to interfere with their anointed savior. The attacks were vicious, but predictable. She was a smart woman who defied liberal dogma. She had to be destroyed.

Thankfully, Palin seems to be resilient. She’s right. America does need reform. What it’s about to get is more spending and talks with terrorists. Maybe America will be ready for smaller government, less taxes and moral clarity after the next few years.

I don’t think I’m ready to believe anything that MSNBC puts out at this point, mainly because it’s pure bullshit (and I do mean pure…no additives or anything).

You’re kidding, right? More spending? Bush has spent us into oblivion on bullshit objectives that have not fundamentally changed a damn thing! As for talking with terrorists, Bush policy simply denied the threat as evidenced by letting bin laden go (on a side note, McCain said he had a way to get him…will he put “country first” and reveal his big plan, or was that only if he got elected?).

But here’s the deal on Palin; No matter how qualified or unqualified she may be, she can’t think on her feet. Her inablitily to answer questions in an even remotely articulate fashion revealed a person that was easily flustered and rattled. I have no doubt that she is smarter than my dog, but she never revealed it. Fair or not, part of demonstrating leadership is to have a cool and collected presence, something she woefully lacks when pushed even slightly by the media. Obama has recently chafed at media scrutiny, and this is something he should have been prepared for, especially as a president of “firsts”. Palin is not so much unqualified as she is unable to deal with the pressure that comes with running for one of the world’s most powerful positions. Several interviews and rounds of questioning have demonstrated that she lacks the confidence to do the job. As I have said before in other posts, being POTUS or VPOTUS is not a job for an “everyman”. It requires a careful balance of common sense, confidence, academic talent and leadership. Wobbling under standard questioning from admittedly hack journalists is not very confidence inspiring.

What did you expect? This is the same MSM that has people convinced that Christians hate Jews, human-created global warming is destroying the earth, and meat is not a natural human food. Honest people tend to believe others are honest, too, and so they believe what the MSM tells them.
