Serious hard core leftists, Naomi Wolfe comes to mind, further distort our belief, to make us ridiculous and to line up some Jewish votes for the Social Democrats. This is helped along by the fact that loads of Jews don’t really know much about their own faith, much less ours. Many people have read in The Chosen or some other novel that some Hasidic Jews believe that the Messiah will come on the day when every Jew obeys the Law perfectly. The Commies take this belief, by a minority of a minority, and create a parallel fictional belief for us, that Jesus will return because of some military victory by Israel. So, Evangelicals and Charismatics, (Realizing that the Lefties have no clue that they are not one and the same) are supposed to support Israel to bring the Second Coming. Reality is irrelevant, here. Having never heard a sermon nor a Sunday School lesson about the Jews killing Christ, means nothing. I’ve heard a couple of very fine sermons about how we all share in this death, because He died for OUR sins. But never anything about ancestral Jewish guilt. I’ve surely heard the reading, it’s right there in the Revised Common Lectionary, “Whoever blesses you, I will bless, and whoever curses you, I will curse,” addressed to Abraham and his descendants. We take it seriously, as did thousands of Christians in Europe, who died, for saving Jews. The ten Boom family are just one small example. However, we have seen, over the last eight years, that the untruth of a meme is no obstacle to its continued use.

A great post Melissa. I’m not sure how much writing he has done on it (I suppose you could do an archive search at Townhall.com), but many times Dennis Prager has stated on his radio show that the best friends that Israel has in the world are American evangelical Christians. He says that many Israelis he talks to acknowledge this, but that Jews in America seem to have no clue about it. And although I am not sure if it was referenced in Jacobson’s article, but I really wish people would get their facts straight about Hitler. He was no Christian, but a pagan occultist. The lands of his birth and rule were inconsequential in what he became.

How true. I’ve run up against this myself just recently on an Israeli blog–the nice man who runs the blog wished his Christian readers a Merry Christmas, and this other fellow went ballistic, even blaming Christmas for the Holocaust. Many Christians suffered horribly in the Nazi death camps for the crime of helping Jews, but that fact is now downplayed.

The MSM is fueling the anti-Christian fire as fast as it can, blaming Evangelicals and Fundamentalists for the errors of the Medieval Catholic Church (and isn’t Fundamentalism really an attempt to correct those errors and go back to the fundamentals of Christianity?). Christianity and Judaism are really just different facets of the same faith. The left-wingers don’t want Jews (OR Christians) to realize that, and they’ll do their best to prevent it.

I really hate to make the distinction here, but evangelical *Christianity* ain’t Dark Ages/Medieval Catholic Church(and never was)so Jacobson is letting his imagination and misunderstandings/ biases completely run away with him. THAT is why 70% of American Jews continue to vote for socialists, which type governing has been the ones that attempt to systematically wipe them out(like Fascism, Communism, National Socialism).

As long as they let their Jesus hatred govern their politics they will continue down their traditionally self-destructive paths.
