Delusion, Thy Name Is Democrat
October 15, 2008 / 10:59 am • By Dr. Melissa ClouthierDelusion, thy name is Democrat. Here are tolerant West Siders cheering jeering McCain-Palin supporters:
In one of Barack Obama’s ads, he talks about thinking about the working man, every single day. That his motivation is to help them. That would be nice, if liberal policies ever helped the middle class.
The kind of society that results from liberal policy is the kind of society you find in cities across America–Detroit, New Orleans, Chicago. In these cities, there are two classes of people: the rich power brokers and the poor people kept poor who support them.
Deluded Democrats hate capitalism even as they hypocritically enjoy the success of capitalism. Deluded Democrats preach environmentalism as they hypocritically hop on their private jets. Deluded Democrats speak of raising taxes as they hypocritically shelter their money, knowing damn well they won’t suffer any loss of lifestyle.
Deluded Democrats preach tolerance even as they hypocritically denigrate anyone who does not hold the same ideology as their own.
The Democrats are anything but liberal and tolerant. Their ideas sound smart, but ignore human nature–including their own.
In conclusion: A parable.

Deluded Democrats didn’t vote for George Bush and his “compassionate conservative” policies which turned out to be neither compassionate nor conservative. Deluded Democrats include the Jim Webb’s of the world who understand the problems of the working poor and the keeping of personal guns (regardless of what the NRA says about Democrats). Deluded Democrats include people who are Christians who believe that as Christians they need to help the “poor, the widows, and the orphans”. I am proud to be considered a “Deluded Democrat” and a born again Christian.

I think you should do some research and compare charitable giving between Republicans and Democrats.
I’ll let you in on a little secret – it’s not even close. Charitable giving from Republicans far outpaces Charitable giving from Democrats.
Finally, remember this truth:
When you give the poor your money, you’re being compassionate.
When you give the poor my money, you’re stealing from me.

What would Jesus do? I personally think that he would have dug deeper into his own pocket to give to poor, the widows and the orphans, instead of sticking his hand into mine. Now I bet that he also would have said a thing or two that would shame me into digging into my pocket. Being born Catholic, once, is enough for me. I don’t need to be born again.

You can get videos for both sides.

There are many videos out there now of McCain-Palin rallies turning into the last hurrahs of George Wallacites.
I think that would be an intesting post, how McCain personifies the hopes of all those who fought the dirty hippies with Nixon and their younger smug followers.

I don’t know how one is “born Catholic,” but if you are a Catholic you must be born again, for that is what Jesus said you must do. It is in the third chapter of John. I am not your spiritual advisor, but this is a basic element of Christianity for Catholic and Protestant alike.

Democrats do not help the poor, the widows, and the orphans. Quite the contrary. They bleed the poor, the widows, and the orphans in order to fund the government. The tenth commandment clearly prohibits redistribution of wealth: “Thou shalt not covet anything that is thy neighbor’s.” If Democrats spent their own money, they would be compassionate. Instead, they take from those who labor.
Gary D–
Surely you are joking? I assume you are one of the arrogant smug hippies who had nothing to do in the 1960s but destroy everything that was good. Perhaps not, but you certainly give that impression.

Trish:
Talk to anyone that’s been born into an Italian or Polish family (lucky me, I’ve got both). The vast majority of them are Roman Catholic. The children have no chance to even consider any other religion; thus my tongue in cheek “born Catholic”. I guess it didn’t translate well. The second bit, all I am going to say on that is (meaning I have neither the time or desire to trade Bible passages with anyone, but I believe there is at least one or two parables whose thrust is (simplified) “It’s how you live your life, not what you say”): Sacrament of Confirmation.

Wow, you guys are pretty thin skinned! The videographer got the one fingered salute and all he/she could do was cry about it? “Fact: …terrorists would be more accepted than McCain/Palin supporters…” Fact? Sorry, that’s not a fact, it’s a supposition, and a ridiculous one at that (that pesky little strawman sure makes a lot of appearances around your website). So they got booed – big deal (or to quote your FAQ section, “Awww, that’s too bad”). Discourse is a function of politics. The right has been labeling Obama as a terorist for several months even though the link with Ayers is weak at best. Guess what? more politics. It has always been a nasty business – if you read a little history you will find that national politics has often been full of mudslinging and vitriol, and occasionally violent as well. No one in that crowd made a violent gesture or threatened the procession in any way. This is just whining. And, once again, as I said in an earlier post, we received our daily dose of anti-intellectualism as well. Seems to be a theme around here…

You missed the entire point of the post Chuckles. Conservatives are supposed to be thin skinned goose stepping killers who tolerate nothing.
Liberals are supposed to be lovers of all humanity on a Jesus scale (but without moral judgement). In fact, you probably shouldn’t be calling anyone thin skinned.
The post just points out the obvious BS of it all.

Louis,
Who said I was liberal? Trust me, I’m not an unconditional lover of humanity. Some cultures and ideologies just plain suck…
