Maureen Dowd’s “Odious Presence” No Longer Welcome On McCain’s Plane

October 2, 2008 / 12:17 pm • By Dr. Melissa Clouthier

Today, anything that makes me laugh will get posted. StoptheACLU has me laughing. Turns out that poor widdle Maureen Dowd got the boot from the McCain plane. That made my day. I love this characterization:

Sorry, Mo, but you shouldn’t expect to be welcomed with open arms while you constantly have your knife out, stabbing wildly like you do. McCain is NOT president yet, so he really doesn’t have to suffer your odious presence if he doesn’t want to.

Let’s face it, Dowd is not a journalist. She is an opinion editorialist. She does not report, she opines. She simply cannot be expected to present unbiased news. McCain knows that he cannot even breathe without Dowd calling it a crime against humanity so that makes her a perfectly legitimate target for dismissal. There is just no expectation of fairness with a Maureen Dowd. Everyone knows it.

An opinion editorialist. Ha! She’s something, alright. She’s just not flying with McCain.

That’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Maureen Dowd. Who’s next to get kicked off the bus? Anyone that disagrees with McCain? Is he going to run the country the same way he runs his campaign?

Oooooooh! She won a Pulitzer Prize? That changes everything! You’re right. She’s really, really smart and interesting that’s why she was kicked off the plane. McCain hates smart people. That explains everyone who is left!

John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison both voted FOR the bailout last night.

Today I dropped my support of Sen Cornyn and his re-election to the post of Senator, and I sent the Cornyn campaign and Sen Cornyn himself an email letting them know, it can be read in the thread linked above.

In a very short time I was contaced by Vincent Harris, wanting my phone number, their campaign manager wanted to talk to me, and I told him NO, I could not, and would not support ANY candidate that voted to bailout $700B, a figure that is still low, actual figures are reported closer to $820B, and that I was pulling their logo from TexasFred’s, The American Conservative and The Texas Connection, and I did.

Jimmy Kerr of But That’s Just My Opinion posted a message in my comments saying he had done the same thing. Jimmy and I are trying to contact and encourage as many Texas bloggers as possible to contact Vincent and let him know that YOU are doing the same thing as well, lets send Cornyn a HUGE, Texas sized message!

Please, if you believe that this is a very important issue, PLEASE contact Vincent and tell him that you’re dropping the logo too, and ask to be removed from their blog roll, no LINK is that important, request that your blog be taken OFF of their roll…

    Contact Vincent here:

    Hey Doc-

Yes, Mcsame does hate smart people - that’s why he chose Palin. Comforting to know that McCain has such a thick skin…

    Ta ta…

Well, Melissa, I notice the other commenters were apparently so smart they didn’t even need to READ the article, before unloading on what they read in the title.

Too bad it was an airplane, not McCain’s bus. Then he could have thrown her under it. :)

A perfect ending would have been for Sarah to buy Mo a plane ticket back to NY out of her own pocket.

Yup, you’re only welcome on the Straight Talk Express when you play along.

Sure, he has a duty to kowtow to someone that deliberately “misrepresents” his words, takes them completely out of context.
