Andrew Sullivan: “The Softer Side Of a F–ing Redneck”
September 7, 2008 / 4:18 pm • By Dr. Melissa ClouthierI haven’t linked Andrew Sullivan in over a year. Way before he demonstrated his despicable Obamasmic homoerotica and Palin-hate (she is, after all, a fecund breeder, gays don’t despise them at all–how’s that for a sweeping stereotype, Andrew?), Sullivan proved himself farcical. But, people still listen to him. He blogs for The Atlantic, don’t you know?
The above headline accompanied this picture:

Patterico says:
That does it. If he is going to make constant disparaging references to the people surrounding Sarah Palin, I am going to keep linking the personal ad[not safe for work, -ed] where he hypocritically seeks out men for promiscuous sex. I’ll do my best to make sure nobody ever forgets it.
Ace is equally enraged. And he wonders, who is giving Andrew Sullivan’s lazy ass these smears, because you know Sullivan isn’t doing any investigative reporting.
The most important thing that may come out of this election is the incestuous relationship between an adoring press, guile-filled blog sycophants and Democrat campaigns. For all the Clinton’s barking about the “politics of personal destruction”, the press functioned as an extension of their ideology, until Drudge came along. And now, Obama says family is “off-limits” yet his staffers attack his opponents personally and Obama stops nothing.
New politics, my ass.

You can count me in as one of the folks who think Sully has gone bonkers! It’s a sad fact for myself who saw him early on as a role model and proof that I could be gay and conservative.
I had no idea what’s happened to the man, but more and more I’m convinced he needs actual mental help.

Kevin QC,
I don’t know what the deal is here; except that when the whole gay marriage thing came up, Sullivan kinda lost his mind. To him, reasonable people could not differ. A person who didn’t agree with attaching the “marriage” moniker to a gay union was a bigot. Since then, he has seemed to be on a one-man mission to destroy the conservative movement from within.
He is no longer a conservative, if he ever was, though. He has become a leftist caricature. Willing to go where tabloids fear to tread. It is difficult to tell the difference between Sullivan and Perez Hilton these days. The latter deserves respect: he is clear about his job.
There are plenty of gay conservatives worthy of respect. Andrew Sullivan isn’t one of them.

Maybe he’s unhappy that he lives in a world where he can’t get married but you can call yourself “Dr.”

tbogg: Andrew Sullivan can marry any single woman he wants to.
Just because he doesn’t want to, doesn’t mean he can’t.
Furthermore, Dr. C has a PhD. Most of the most vocal prominent liberal celebs don’t even have a high school diploma. For example: Janeane Garofalo. No high school diploma, yet she feels smart enough to call conservatives “dumb”.
