The possibility that Mr or Mrs Obama instigate or encourage press harassment of Mrs Palin and her daughter is difficult to prove, even if true. However, the their ignorance about the details of the forged birth certificate controversy is unlikely. Their lack of openness was spectacular. If Mrs Palin published a genuine certified birth certificate for her youngest child, then not only would the rumours regarding her fake pregnancy be dispelled, but her candour could be contrasted with the Obama’s evasiveness.
