		<description>There are big problems with the Pickens plan, anyhow:

1)Wind, because of its intermittant nature, probably cannot be realistically used to supply more than 10-20% of total electricity.

2)The Pickens plan requires major buildout of long transmission lines. Anyone think the environmentalists are really going to let us do that?

3)Even if most power generation is switched away from natural gas, it&#039;s not at all clear that we have enough domestic natural gas to support car/truck transportation over the long term. And again, the environmentalists are as good at stopping nat gas drilling as they are at stopping oil drilling. (Often, the same wells produce both)

I give the man credit for stirring the pot, though.</description>
