Each year, people head into shorter days, get bored, turn on the tube, get more depressed and then new research comes out saying that when days get shorter, you're bored, and then you watch more TV, you get depressed. Still it's worth noting that watching the one eyed monster [a reader informed me that this is a naughty euphemism to which I say,"To the pure, all things are pure", but since most of you are not pure, I shall pick a new metaphor] boob tube excessively rots your brain, saps your en…
The Post Wherein I Agree With A Huffington Poster About GM

Watching GM decline has been part of my family's legacy. I'm a GM brat and many of my friends had dads who worked the line, were engineers, or somehow supplied the car companies. When there is just so much electoral monkey-business badness, it gets overwhelming. Rachel Lucas runs down the whole sordid mess and you need to read about it because informed voters actually read. It's nice if they shower, work and brush their teeth, too. But ACORN wants just such voters--electing Obama hinges on crack heads and prisoners and dead people and big name celebrities getting out to vote over and over and over again.

What if Ronald Reagan was wrong? He championed supply-side economics and through his policies created deficit spending. (And yes, I acknowledge the trade-off of bringing down the Soviet Empire was worth it in the near term, but what did that action create in the long-term?)
